L.A. foodies and fashionistas are invited to indulge in chef Dominique Ansel´s sweet treats at The Grove´s Barneys New York location on Saturday.

Fashion and pastries don´t usually go hand-in-hand, but it seems the Cronut — half donut, half croissant — is a food craze that knows no bounds.

The treat, created by chef Dominique Ansel, has led New Yorkers to line up for hours (even days!) outside of Ansel´s SoHo bakery since its introduction last May. This weekend, Angelenos can get a taste of the sweet crisp morsel without heading to the East Coast.

Barneys New York is inviting shoppers to its store at The Grove on March 1 to celebrate the department store´s recent makeover at the Grove, as well as at its New York boutiques on the Upper West Side and in Brooklyn. The stores — formally known as CO-OPs — now are mixing in luxe brands, including Azzedine Alaia, Saint Laurent and Manolo Blahnik, while continuing to carry more contemporary collections.

All Cronut sales will benefit Heart of Los Angeles, a nonprofit that provides underserved youth with exceptional academics, arts and athletics. Shoppers can get the sweet treat from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. But be warned, these croissant-doughnut hybrids are bound to go quickly.
