DVF IN L.A.: Diane von Furstenberg crowned Brittany Hampton global ambassador in the season finale of her E! reality show “House of DVF.” The show tracked 10 young women as they competed against one another for the title of brand ambassador at the company, which aimed to reach a new generation of prospective customers for DVF.
Von Furstenberg was in L.A. Sunday night for a special screening of the show’s final episode at The Grove, where she recently opened a store. “It was a very fun experience and I ended up hiring three girls,” she said. “I loved it because I love being with young girls for the very special moments that gives them [hope that] everything is possible.”
Not only was Hampton offered a one-year contract to be the company’s brand ambassador, but show contestants Lenore Genovese and Tiffani Warkenthien also were offered positions within the company. Genovese now works in wholesale and Warkenthien is at the DVF store in New York’s Meatpacking District.
Von Furstenberg said she had been approached with a number of TV shows, which she called “all bad ideas,” until the offer to do the reality show with E! came up. “It felt right because it’s real,” she said.
Von Furstenberg is now off to Papua New Guinea, where she said she plans to spend the holidays.
