While everyone else is experimenting with crazy hair colors (at least that´s the case if our Instagram feeds are any indication), Nicole Richie seems to be sending out the message that she´s been there and done that. At the launch of her House of Harlow 1960 pop-up store in Los Angeles, Richie debuted a new striking short haircut and bright-blonde color.
Richie´s new look has a bowl-cut effect when viewed from the front but then extends longer in the back into a supershort bob. It´s giving us major Ruby Rose vibes-with a pinch of Chanel couture wigs mixed in-so obviously we´re into it.
Richie has never been one to shy away from unconventional hair colors, and while we´ve loved seeing her experiment with them, we find her return to blonde to be refreshing. But we´re not counting on this back-to-basics phase lasting long. “My hair changes color, as you can see, with every wash,” Richie once told us in an interview. “The way I look at hair is it´s just hair color. I don´t use permanent hair color-it washes out. It will go grow back. I´ve always liked changing up my look.”
And for those of you who are based on the West Coast, it´s worth stopping by Richie´s pop-up-located at the Grove and open until July 16-for a slew of awesome beauty events it will be hosting throughout the week. On Friday, Richie´s makeup artist Beau Nelson will be teaching attendees how to get Richie´s signature smoky-eye look, and on Sunday, Richie´s colorist Danny Moon will be re-creating Richie´s bold hues on customers using Manic Panic. So if you´ve ever wanted to emulate Richie´s bubble-gum pink, this is your chance.
