Bourbon Steak chef Kyle Johnson took cues from his favorite dim sum spots for the new brunch menu at Michael Mina´s restaurant in Glendale. Along with traditional composed dishes, there are roving carts loaded with at least five different snacks, things like coconut Thai curry carrot salad, egg salad croissant profiteroles (!), and Blood Mary “bites” with olives, anchovies, tomatos and peppers. The items change weekly and are complimentary – yep, on the house – which is enough reason to fight The Americana at Brand crowds every weekend.

Non-roving dishes on the fairly lavish menu include a kale Waldorf salad; wood-grilled merguez with hummus and feta harissa; ricotta pancakes with bourbon maple syrup and Chantilly cream; lobster Louie rolls; and wood-fired Wagyu flatiron steaks or salmon and eggs with duck-fat fries. To drink, indulge in something from the Bloody Mary cart, or sip a Kentucky Maid, made with bourbon, mint, cucumber and lime. After, walk it off with a little retail therapy. Brunch is served on Sundays, 11:30 AM-3 PM.
