That´s one way to celebrate being 90 years young.
Dick Van Dyke, star of the beloved classic “Mary Poppins,” was gifted with a tribute to his role as the magical nanny´s Cockney boyfriend over the weekend, in the form of a youthful flash mob.
A medley of “Poppins” dancing broke out at the Grove in Los Angeles in celebration of Van Dyke´s 90th birthday on Saturday. The actor watched as participants dressed as his jack-of-all-trades character, Bert, showed off their stuff to songs from the 1964 Disney film including “Chim-Chim-Cheree” “Jolly Holiday,” “Step in Time” and, naturally, “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.”
The video of the flash mob, which was shot by Trevor Perez for DisneyExaminer.com, also featured footage of Van Dyke joining the participants to sing yet another “Poppins” tune, “Let´s Go Fly a Kite.”
