Day one of the Los Angeles Fashion Council’s slate of runway shows at the Grove shopping center closed out with L.A.-based Odylyne, by designer Stephanie Lampkin.

Inspiration: “The Odylyne spring 2014 collection is heavily inspired by the symmetry and mysticism found in the Indian and Moroccan cultures,” Lampkin said in her show notes.

The look: That meant adding a whole lot of wild paisley and little bit of metallic foiled lace to the Greco-Roman-goddess-gone-Bohemian silhouette Lampkin does so well.

Key pieces: Fluttering maxi dresses and thigh-skimming minis in the aforementioned paisley print, floor-length bare-shouldered gowns and floral gowns and cloth-belted dresses sheer enough to suntan through — would that the sun actually emerge on the rare overcast L.A. day.

The verdict: Odylyne, consistently one of the strongest labels to show during the last few seasons of Los Angeles Fashion Week, was our hands-down favorite of the day — and the perfect way to end the inaugural day of Los Angeles Fashion Council shows at the Grove.
