Paper
Crown and Rifle Paper Co.´s pop-up shop at The Grove is the stuff of every
Super Pinterester´s daydreams, but really, is anyone at all surprised? Reality
star-turned-designer Lauren Conrad and the stylish stationery brand´s
founder/illustrator, Anna Bond, unveiled their very charming collaboration
during a preview this morning, just in time to dress us all for this weekend´s
floral-filled festivities.
Filled
with every colorful piece from the clothing, stationery, and accessories collab
$128 to $298 for apparel; $4.50 to $40 for paper goods and iPhone cases), the
pretty Parisian-inspired pop-up also offers items from both brand´s regular
collections, plus finds from Conrad´s globally-conscious Little Market. After
lusting over the entire Valentine´s Day-ready spring range, we had a chat with
the fashionable collaborators about their Pinterest obsessions, where they shop
online, and more.
What
are your favorite pieces from the collection?
LC:
I love the cards, the phone cases, the journals…all the things! I think the
cards are great; I´m someone who collects cards because I feel like it´s always
someone´s birthday and then you don´t have a birthday card. I like to buy them
ahead of time and I have boxes of them all organized. It´s only because I´ve
failed so many times.
Where
are your favorite stores to shop in LA?
AB:
I feel like I haven´t been here enough, I´m usually just here for work.
LC:
I´m the worst, I´m all online! I have a very regular schedule and I´m such a
loyalist to brands. And honestly between the two lines I shop so little now.
It´s odd to have a day where I´m not wearing at least one piece from my brand.
I shoot Kohl´s every other month and I leave with three trash bags full of
clothes. I take all the samples-I didn´t realize I could do that until two
years ago.
How
about online, what are your top e-shops?
AB:
I shop a lot on ShopBop, [the order] comes in like one day. I shop at a lot of
random places, usually I´m looking for something specific, so it just depends
on the store that has it.
LC:
If I´m looking for something special, I love Net-A-Porter. Anthropologie and J.
Crew, too. Now we´re at a point where if you´re looking for something, there
are websites like ShopStyle that have everything. You don´t even need to know
where you´re shopping.
Everything
in here is so Pinterest-worthy. Are either of you super Pinners?
AB:
I have an account, but I actually can´t remember my password right now and I
can´t figure out how to get in. Every time I go on there I feel like it starts
messing me and I just go down this rabbit hole of looking at other people´s
stuff. I try to stay away from it as much as possible.
LC:
I feel like that´s good because it keeps your work original. For me it´s mostly
lifestyle, interior decorating, it´s all rooms for me and little inspiration
things, like hairdos.
Are
there any boards that you follow religiously?
LC:
I don´t, and I actually feel bad for anybody that follows me because it´s so
random. I´m not the cute Pinterester that finds the cuter shot of [a product],
it´ll be like a Pottery Barn lamp. I´m addicted to [interior design and] I´ll
send contractors photos of stuff, and I sometimes crop out the Pinterest stuff.
