Santa Barbara County Supervisors held a hearing about the Miramar Hotel on Tuesday.
Hours later, Caruso Affiliated issued a statement by developer Rick Caruso.
Caruso said, “Caruso Affiliated is extremely pleased that the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted in support of our moving forward with the proposed plan for The Miramar Beach Resort. We are confident that we will be able to build a resort that not only echoes the great heritage of The Miramar, but also one that the Montecito community will be proud to call its own. “
Some members of the community, near the Montecito hotel site, said they were concerned over parking and the number of club members planned for the resort.
The final plan was downsized.Caruso Affiliated plans to break ground next year, and open its doors to guests in 2018.
