Sprinkles Cupcakes, Cookies & Ice Cream is marking its 11th anniversary this month. To celebrate, the chain on Friday replaced one of its flagship flavors with a new one.
Red Velvet is officially on “cupcation,” with Black Velvet taking its place through April. The new flavor was created by “upping the cocoa quotient” in the batter, and by topping the results with whipped chocolate ganache.
The cupcakes ($3.75 each) are available at The Promenade at Westlake location in Thousand Oaks (180 Promenade Way, 805-370-5306, https://sprinkles.com).
