After invading the states by way of the east coast five years ago, fashionable French bakery Ladurée officially opens its first of two Los Angeles outposts at The Grove this Saturday. The Parisian patisserie and restaurant reveals to us more details about its LA debut, which was originally slated to open Thanksgiving weekend.
We’re told that in addition to housing a “lovely boutique,” The Grove’s dreamy macaron mecca will span 2,150 square feet and house a tea room and restaurant. It’ll “offer several salons of exceptional character,” like custom-made furnishings and decor sourced from Parisian antique shops. Other interior design touches include white marble counters, while a 50-seat outdoor terrace will recreate the romance of Europe. Fancy.

Alongside Ladurée’s full lineup of freshly-baked desserts, chocolates, and viennoiseries, the resto will also feature California-inspired fare that’ll please health-obsessed tastebuds. Expect to order omelettes stuffed with mushrooms, cheese, ham, and tomatoes for breakfast; for lunch and dinner, there’s the Champs-Elysses Club (made with tomatoes, eggplant, zucchini, pesto, mozzarella, parmesan, basil, and arugula), a tofu burger, and the Ladurée Salad (arugula with baby artichokes, green asparagus, mozzarella, and more), to name just a few options. Also on the menu are pommes pont neuf (or as we say in America, “French fries”), juices, cocktails, ice cream, and more.
There’ll be non-edible treats, too: shoppers can pick up scented candles, totes, keychains, and other fashionable giftables. Of course, Ladurée’s macarons will be served up in its signature stylish boxes, including a special-edition design made for the City of Angels. (Take a peek at our editor’s Instagram snap below.)
