Two
years after opening the Row on Melrose Place, the Olsen twins have returned to
Los Angeles to debut the first store for their lifestyle brand Elizabeth and
James. Located in the Grove, a luxury shopping destination, the airy
1,200-square-foot space is a collaboration between the sisters and architect
David Montalba, featuring white brick walls and a combination of custom-made
and vintage furnishings with wood and stainless-steel details that lend a
comfortable, residential vibe to the store. “Storytelling is important to us
and was the foundation for our design vision. We curated the space to create a
welcoming environment for our customer,” Mary-Kate said in a statement. The
store will stock not only the brand’s ready-to-wear, accessories, and fragrance
collections but also a selection of decor items—both vintage and
contemporary—curated by Ashley and Mary-Kate themselves. “The Grove is an L.A.
institution,” added Ashley. “We’ve waited ten years to do this and are pleased
for Elizabeth and James to be a part of what makes the Grove so special.” Take
