The 30-piece range will be on sale in a kitted-out 1957 Airstream at Malibu Pier through Friday.
L.A. designer Jenni Kayne toasted her new 30-piece Jenni Kayne Home collection on Wednesday with a celebration at Malibu Farm restaurant; in the intimate crowd were Jessica Capshaw, Courteney Cox, Shiva Rose, Soleil Moon Frye, Rachel Zoe and Rodger Berman. The new line ($55-$350) is for sale in a kitted-out 1957 Airstream, which will remain at Malibu Pier through Friday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., before hitting the road to additional locations through the end of the year — details below. Jenni Kayne Home launched on Oct. 2 at the designer’s five California stores and jennikayne.com.

“I’m super excited to be launching home; I’ve always envisioned my brand as a lifestyle brand and I’ve never had the opportunity to design home products myself until now,” said Kayne, who launched her eponymous label in 2003. “Given where my business is at, it just felt like the perfect time to do it. We decided to start with soft textiles and candles and giftable items, since it’s for holiday. The aesthetic feels classic, neutral and organic. I want to make pieces that people will want to live with for a long time in their home, that make them happy.”

To date, Jenni Kayne Home’s top sellers are $250 sheepskin slippers (in the style of Moroccan babouche slides) and the $85 Ash candle with notes of clove, birchwood, balsam and cedar wood in a special-edition vessel handcrafted by L.A. ceramicist Virginia Morris, who has collaboratively designed a line of tabletop with Jenni Kayne that will debut next spring. (The designer said that the Ash candle has already sold out in her Brentwood store.)

The Jenni Kayne Home collection also includes basket-weave alpaca blankets, pillows, sleep masks, fingerless gloves and beanie hats (created at a factory in Peru owned by women), suede and alpaca slippers, linen blankets and travel pouches crafted in Los Angeles, silk and cotton flannel pajama sets, and five scented candles manufactured by Culver City-based Stone Candles in partnership with non-profit Exceptional Children’s Foundation. The Airstream shop additionally sells limited-edition prints by L.A. photographer Marc Gabor of Tappan Atelier.

Jenni Kayne Home-on-wheels’ final stop is The Grove, 189 The Grove Drive in Fairfax, on Dec. 12 through Dec. 24. A save for last-minute holiday shoppers!
