The Draycott does tea service, martini carts, and a lot more

Caruso’s Pacific Palisades project has a new British-inflected eatery in the works called The Draycott, which comes from two longtime restaurateurs. It goes into a project that’s entering its final phases, with a hopeful opening in September. Caruso, which also developed The Americana at Brand and The Grove, has a massive operation that should significantly transform the Westside neighborhood.

The restaurant’s name is a nod to Draycott Avenue in London, where owners Matt and Marissa Hermer have a personal history. They’re a well-known restaurant duo with a slew of projects across the globe, from Eclipse bars in London, Istanbul, and Barcelona, to Bumpkin restaurants across the UK.

As for what to expect, look for The Draycott to span nearly all day long, with quick breakfast dishes in the morning transitioning into more upscale lazy lunches and finer dining dinners. There will be cocktails galore, including a roving martini cart, and — as the British are wont to do — afternoon tea sessions. The space can certainly handle it all, with a big dining room, a relaxing outdoor terrace, a bar, and private dining space. Word is, they’ll also throw events catering to young families and kids.

Once it opens, The Draycott will stand side-by-side with a variety of new dining options, from edo little bites to McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams, Sweet Laurel Bakery, SunLife Organics, and a new project called General Porpoise from Seattle’s award-winning chef Renee Erickson. Expect an opening for The Draycott in September, if not before.
