Rosewood Miramar Beach is a picture-perfect California coastal resort where you’ll find wellness enthusiasts, nature lovers, and also lots of A-list celebrities. Located in Montecito (you may have heard a certain royal couple lives there too), the property overlooks the beach, is flanked by the Santa Ynez Mountains and features lush greenery throughout the property. Surrounded by nature, it only makes sense that Rosewood Miramar Beach draws on the local coastline and vegetation for guests to enjoy at their restaurants, spa, and outdoors. If you plan on booking a trip there here’s how you’ll get a taste and feel of the region.
A Taste of California
Caruso’s is Rosewood Miramar’s fine dining restaurant and both the menu and the striking cliffside views are a love letter to the California coast. Almost all of the seafood is sourced locally here — make sure to try the legendary Santa Barbara uni, rated one of the best in the world served with gnocchetti pasta and confit tomato. On the menu you’ll see that the main ingredient is referred to as Stephanie’s uni, as the property works with a local diver to truly get the freshest product out there. Another tasty seafood appetizer is their octopus which is served with a molé sauce and potatoes, which gives the delicate ingredient a flavorful and bold spin. Other must-try dishes on the menu are the carbonara, the dry-aged duck and the honey-based dessert which uses honey from the property’s own beehives. Caruso’s thoughtful food practices earned them a Michelin Green Star for sustainability.
Very soon Caruso’s will also have a very exciting collaboration with New York City three Michelin star restaurant Eleven Madison Park. From June 30 to July 1 Chef Massimo Falsini and Chef Daniel Humm will collaborate on a plant-based experience celebrating the wealth of ingredients California’s Central Coast has to offer.
Sampling the Flora at the Spa
Visiting the property’s Sense® Spa is another moment to immerse yourself in the regional vegetation as their treatments utilize the local flora. One of these treatments is the Montecito Sage Purification which uses the herb to create a relaxing, multisensory experience. After settling into one of their plush heated treatment beds, you’ll experience a rejuvenating scrub using salt minerals, indigenous sage, pine and juniper to slough off any dead skin. This is followed by a cozy wrap and then a full body massage during which you can enjoy the scent of sage oil applied to your body. The massage also uses heated stones to further help your muscles and mind unwind.
Surrounded by Nature
After all of these indoor experiences that celebrate the bountiful nature of California’s central coast you, of course, also need to experience the surrounding beauty of nature itself. You’re directly located on Miramar Beach, one of the most beautiful in the region where you can be active with swimming, kayaking, surfing and more, or can just chill in one of Rosewood’s beach chairs with a cocktail. You can also explore the coast off-property with one of their Miramar bicycles or if you’re looking for a very unique driving experience, one of their pink Miramar Mokes would be perfect for some exploration. The vehicle features a bubble gum pink exterior and has an open-air build, a dream to cruise around on a sunny California day.
From their culinary program to their spa and the surrounding stunning landscape, Rosewood Miramar Beach will make you fall in love with the California Central Coast and everything it has to offer.
