Lea Michele and Rachel Platten Set To Perform Along with Host Seth MacFarlane at The Grove’s Annual Christmas Show, Featuring an Incredible Musical Spectacular, the Season’s First Snowfall, Lighting of the Christmas Tree, the Arrival of Santa Claus and Fireworks Finale

LOS ANGELES – November 4, 2016 – The West Coast’s most anticipated holiday event will be held in Los Angeles on Sunday, Nov. 13 as The Grove, award-winning retail, dining and lifestyle destination, hosts “The Grove Christmas with Seth MacFarlane.” MacFarlane will be joined by performers Lea Michele and Rachel Platten.

Presented by Citi, the dynamic holiday showcase will commence with the pre-show at 7:00pm, followed by a 60-minute live show at 7:30pm hosted by MacFarlane. The evening will feature entertainment for the whole family to enjoy, with MacFarlane singing some of the holiday’s most cherished songs.

Seth MacFarlane is a creator, writer, director and singer of some of today’s most popular content, garnering three Emmy Awards, four Grammy Award nominations, and an Academy Award nomination for his work in television, music and motion pictures. He has traveled the world to sing with renowned orchestras, such as the BBC Proms, the National Symphony Orchestra, and the Los Angeles and New York Philharmonic, lending his baritone voice to the hidden gems of the ‘40s and ‘50s swing era. He has released two successful albums and his third, No One Ever Tells You, debuted at #1 on the iTunes jazz charts last October. MacFarlane also created the hugely successful television shows FAMILY GUY and AMERICAN DAD, executive produced the Emmy-winning COSMOS: A SPACE TIME ODYSSEY and Starz’ original show, BLUNT TALK. His directorial debut, TED, is the highest grossing original R-rated comedy and he has since gone on to write, direct and produce A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST and TED 2. Next up for MacFarlane is Illumination Entertainment’s animated musical family comedy, SING, which hits theaters December 21st, and Steven Soderbergh’s heist film, LOGAN LUCKY. Furthermore, MacFarlane is set to topline his first live-action television series. Fox has given a 13-episode straight-to-series order to the hour-long comedic drama which MacFarlane created, will executive produce, and star in. The sci-fi dramedy is set 300 years in the future and follows the adventures of the Orville and its motley crew of space explorers. The series is slated for the 2017-2018 season.

In 2009 Lea Michele debuted in her role as perfectionist firecracker “Rachel Berry” on Ryan Murphy’s critically acclaimed, Golden Globe- and SAG Award-winning series, “Glee.” In 2010, Michele was honored with an Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and a Golden Globe nomination for Best Television Actress – Comedy. That same year, the “Glee” cast won the SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series, among other awards. She can currently be seen on Fox as Hester in the dark Ryan Murphy comedy “Scream Queens.” She also received raved reviews for her stage performance in the role of “Wendla” for the Tony Award-winning Broadway production of “Spring Awakening,” which earned her a Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Musical. While appearing on television and stage, Michele’s love for music has been a focus point in her career. In March of 2014, she released her album, “Louder,” which debuted at No. 1 on iTunes and in the Top 5 on Billboard charts. She is currently putting the finishing touches on her follow up album. Also in 2014, Michele added best-selling author to her resume when she released her first book, “Brunette Ambition”, which was a NY Times Best Seller. She released her second book, “You First,” the following year.

Best known for her emotionally empowering anthems, Boston-bred singer and songwriter Rachel Platten first made the transition into a professional singing career after performing in college. The vibrant star broke through in 2015 with her uplifting pop hit, “Fight Song”; the multi- platinum selling single peaked at number six on Billboard Hot 100 and topped international charts before being succeeded by her Platinum Billboard Hot 100 hit, “Stand by You.” Platten’s Gold-certified, major label debut album “Wildfire” was released by Columbia Records earlier this year.

Highlights of the evening also will include the much-anticipated annual lighting of The Grove’s Christmas tree, the season’s first snowfall, the arrival of Santa Claus himself and a fantastic fireworks finale.
