Greenleaf Gourmet Chopshop, a “farm-to-face” concept that Commander-in-Leaf Jonathan Rollo initially debuted in Beverly Hills, is set to debut a branch at The Commons at Calabasas this summer. Greenleaf was initially rooted in salads but now touts a varied roster for brunch, lunch, dinner and drinks—all leaning on local produce.

Dishes as diverse as seared salmon with carrot puree, shrimp Diablo tacos and pesto chicken panini now share space on a menu that’s also strong on customization. “Build your own” salad or entrée if you so desire.

Why did they bring their “quick-gourmet” fare to The Commons at Calabasas? “Greenleaf’s mission is to bring premium, healthy food to as many neighborhoods in SoCal as we can,” Jonathan says. “Calabasas is a vibrant community that prioritizes healthy living, and so the fit for Greenleaf was there.”

With seven outlets and growing, Jonathan insists he is working to ensure that the Calabasas branch maintains some independent spirit. “It is important for us to create individualized layouts for each of our locations so that they best fit and reflect the neighborhood,” he says. “My inspiration for Greenleaf Calabasas is sort of a Malibu farm house. This location will have our largest outdoor patio to date, complete with cocktail service, a large and inviting fire pit to sit by and enjoy, an onsite herb garden where we will source some of our ingredients from, and just an overall vibe that will reflect the region.”
